The Golf Show was created through the partnership of the Pacific Northwest Section PGA and the Pacific Northwest Golf Association in 1998.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the show. Originally held in Bellevue, the Seattle Golf Show soon outgrew the facility and moved across Lake Washington to the then newly built Qwest Field Events Center and Qwest Field, home of the Seattle Seahawks. It has been here that the show has really taken root.

In 2007, the Seattle Golf Show boasted the most exhibitors of any consumer golf show on the west coast with more than 200 exhibitors, demonstrations and events.

Below you will find additional information on the founding organizations, the Pacific Northwest Golf Association and the Pacific Northwest Section of the PGA. These associations are intimately involved in this show, both endorsing and supporting it at all levels.

PACIFIC NORTHWEST SECTION PGA

Mission
The Mission of the Pacific Northwest Section PGA is to promote the enjoyment and involvement in the game of golf and to contribute to its growth by providing services to golf professionals and the golf industry.

The Pacific Northwest Section will accomplish the mission by enhancing the skills of its professionals and the opportunities for amateurs, employers, manufacturers, employees, and the general public.

In doing so, the Pacific Northwest Section PGA will elevate the standards of the professional golfers' vocation, enhance the economic well-being of the individual member, stimulate interest in the game of golf, and promote the overall vitality of the game.

Who Are We?
The Pacific Northwest Section PGA is one of the 41 geographically separated districts which make up the Professional Golfers' Association of America. We provide services for the PGA golf professionals throughout the Northwest, more specifically in the states of Washington, Oregon, Northern Idaho, Western Montana, and Alaska. The Section is further divided into five chapters: Western Washington, Central Washington, Inland Empire, Western Montana, and Oregon. The Pacific Northwest is the largest in the country geographically, and with over 1,100 members, apprentices and novices, and ranks sixth in number of golf professionals.

Our membership is a group of professionals dedicated to making golf a better game. They are the club professionals throughout the Northwest who are responsible for the day-to-day activities at the many facilities throughout the section. They wear many hats at their clubs, including those of junior-golf leader, teacher, merchandiser, budget administrator, tournament organizer, rules official, personnel manager, and marketer, just to name a few. As you can imagine, the majority of our professionals got into the business of golf because they enjoyed playing the game, and some remain extremely competitive.

Our section tournament program is alone at the top in comparison with other sections. The goal of our tournament program is to provide quality playing opportunities for our professionals and their membership. We look at several factors to measure the success of our tournament program, including sponsor relations, donations to charity, number of participants, tournament purse, quality and value of event, and quality of administration. In section tournaments, approximately 400 professionals and 800 amateurs played for purses approaching $1,000,000. Donations to charities from these section events totaled more than $150,000.
